Hands that Shed Innocent Blood
Hands that Shed Innocent Blood
by Jeshua David Screws
Ever so cunning do their hands move
Devising ways to destroy
Clever and crafty thoughts they do think
Of plans they're sure to enjoy
Slowly but surely do they sneak in
Catching their prey off guard
Making their approach by acts deemed civil
Causing just punishment to be hard
For though their deeds are ghastly and vile
Swift judgment is often escaped
As long as man’s laws are allowed their corruption
And the truth they continue to negate
The blood they do shed is innocent and pure
Deserving no reason for harm
Life that is new and hoping for a chance
Instead met with unpleasant alarm
Defenseless they are to struggle or resist
Completely open for ruthless attack
Trying their best to cry out for help
Having no means to fight back
Unheard by the masses is their silent plea
For a trend was allowed to be formed
And what once was termed murder by society large
Has created a justified norm
Yet the day will soon be upon us
When the Father will intervene
Bringing judgment to this abomination
A vindication of a righteous means
Accounting with accuracy for every life taken
Recompense paid in full to each one
A finality of cost for the preciousness stolen
And just punishment for crimes they have done
Proverbs 6:16-18
